<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce defective alignment of liquid crystal by suppressing charging upon rubbing which becomes a cause of the defective alignment of the liquid crystal, and to provide a method of manufacturing the liquid crystalline film, in respect to the liquid crystalline film obtained by performing alignment of the liquid crystal and fixation of the alignment by forming a thin film of a liquid crystal material on an aligning substrate made of a plastic film or sheet subjected to rubbing treatment and a manufacturing method of the liquid crystalline film. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystalline film is provided by performing rubbing treatment under conditions of an indentation amount of 0.1 to 1.0 mm and a peripheral speed ratio of 2 to 250 by using a rubbing cloth made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) fiber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
