LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE AND FABRICATING METHOD OF THE SAME

An LCD and a fabrication method thereof are provided to provide a channel passivation layer between a portion of an ohmic contact layer and an active layer of a thin film transistor to omit a process of forming a passivation layer. A gate line(101) and a data line intersect each other on a substrate(100). A gate insulating layer is interposed between the gate line and the data line. A thin film transistor is formed at an intersection of the gate line and the data line. A pixel electrode(180a) is directly connected to a drain electrode(160b) of the thin film transistor, and is placed on the gate insulating layer. A channel passivation layer(130b) is interposed between a portion of an ohmic contact layer(150a) and an active layer(120a) of the thin film transistor.
