<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing high purity electrolytic copper from an ammonia-based copper etching waste liquid by a small-scale and simple treatment. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the high purity electrolytic copper has: a first process for solid-liquid separating the ammonia-based copper etching waste liquid containing a copper-ammonia complex ion as a main component and ammonium chloride by mixing the waste liquid with sulfuric acid to deposit a solid copper compound; a second process for electrolyzing a liquid separated in the solid-liquid separation in the first process and containing the copper-ammonia complex ion, sulfate ion, and chlorine ion to deposit metal copper powder on a cathode and at the same time, to decompose ammonia nitrogen; and a third process for depositing high purity metal copper by dissolving the solid copper compound and metal copper powder, obtained in the both processes mentioned above, into a sulfuric acid or ammonium sulfate solution and electrolyzing the obtained copper sulfate solution or copper ammonia complex salt solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
