An aid 1 for painting a skirting board (2 Figure 11) in a room with a carpet (3 figure 11) extending contiguously to the skirting board, comprises a kneeling frame 4 having a flat base 5 defining a downward-bevelled leading edge 6 for placement in proximity to the skirting board (2), and a blade 7 extending along the leading edge 6. The arrangement is such that when a user of the aid 1 kneels on the frame 4, the user's weight causes the blade 7 to press downwardly on the carpet (3), so as to deform it sufficiently to allow access for paint to be applied to the skirting board 2, without contact with the carpet. |
