PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable navigation system capable contributing to promotion of health. SOLUTION: The portable navigation system includes a cardiac beat meter 15 for counting a cardiac rate, a calorie consumption calculation part 33 for calculating a calorie consumption based on the cardiac rate counted by the cardiac beat meter, a map data storage part 18a for storing a map data, a current position detecting part 31 for detecting a current position, a road detecting part 32 for detecting a passed-through road by matching the current position detected by the current position detecting part with the map data read from the map data storage part, a calorie consumption storage part 18b for storing the calorie consumption in each section of the road calculated by the calorie consumption calculation part, while correlated with the each section of the road detected by the road detecting part, and a display part 17 for displaying the calorie consumption in the each section of the road read from the calorie consumption storage part, while correlated with the each section of the road indicated by the map data read from the map data storage part.
