<p>A control system for a direction indicator system for a vehicle operates in relation to a selected route, as monitored by a GPS system and with both cameras and radar positioned to monitor the lanes each side of the vehicle. The GPS system monitors the selected route as well as the position coordinates of the vehicle. The control system determines if there is sufficient spacing between adjacent vehicles to enable the vehicle to change lanes, taking into account the relative speeds of the vehicles and in relation to programmed threshold values.</p> |
