PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dimmer capable of suppressing a lighting failure of a light source caused by excessively lowering a dimming ratio even when a fluorescent lamp is used as the light source by connecting it. SOLUTION: This dimmer is provided with a housing 2, and a dimming handle 3 displaceably attached to the housing 2. The dimming ratio is controlled in response to the position of the dimming handle 3 with respect to the housing 2. The dimmer is also provided with a restriction member 4 for restricting the movable range of the dimming handle 3 in a direction for reducing the dimming ratio.
