PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that, while suppressing, for example, the occurrence of soiling of image white parts, scattering within the apparatus, streaks and thin spots attributable to uneven toner particle size distribution and matching between a toner and a photoreceptor, can improve image quality, has good cleaning properties, and, even when a high-speed printing machine is used, can reduce a problem of soiling or the like in long-term use, and can realize excellent image stability. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is characterized in that a photosensitive layer in the electrophotographic photoreceptor contains phthalocyanine produced through an acid pasting step, the toner for electrostatic charge image development contains toner mother particles formed in an aqueous medium, the toner volume median diameter (Dv50) is 4.0-7.0μm, and the relationship between the volume median diameter (Dv50) and the percentage number (Dns) of toners having a particle diameter of 2.00-3.56μm satisfies the formula (1): Dns≤0.233 EXP (17.3/Dv50).
