PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant synthetic fiber that has a high level of flame retardancy that can suitably be used for textile products needing a high level of flame retardancy and further provide the flame retardant complex body and flame-retardant mattress that is obtained by using the complex body. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant synthetic fiber comprises adding 3 to 50 pts.wt. of a compound material including zinc oxide component including 20 to 80 wt.% of zinc oxide and condensed phosphate salt compound, and 3 to 50 pts.wt. of vinyl chloride resin and/or vinylidene chloride resin and/or chloride paraffin that has an average molecular weight of more than 800 and a chlorine content of more than 50 wt.% based on 100 pts.wt. of chlorine-containing polymer comprising 30 to 70 wt.% of acrylonitrile unit, 70 to 30 wt.% of a chlorine-containing vinyl and/or chlorine-including vinylidene monomer unit, and 0 to 10 wt.% of vinyl monomer units that are copolymerizable with the monomers stated above. And the flame-retardant synthetic fiber comprises 6 to 50 pts.wt. of the above-stated zinc oxide and condensed phosphate complex, a vinyl chloride resin and/or vinylidene chloride resin and/or a chlorinated paraffin in total.
