PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tonneau cover device certainly releasing engagement when a seatback is forwardly inclined by a forward inclining mechanism, eliminating the need of manually releasing the engagement, and having high convenience and marketability. SOLUTION: In the tonneau cover device, a front side tonneau cover is spread between the seatback 11 provided with the forward inclining mechanism inclining the seatback 11 to a vehicle front side and a winding device, thereby covering an upper surface of a cargo chamber. An upper end portion 41a of an interlocking lever 41 pushes up a cover side engaging member 91 of an engaging means 9 engaging the front side tonneau cover and the seatback 11 to release the engagement, by interlocking with forward inclining action of the forward inclining mechanism 4.
