<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and conveniently perform browsing and printing-out of desired image data by transferring the image data to an image storage device directly connected with an external storage device, and storing it in a storage so as to be manageable. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 22 is directly connected with a digital still camera 23 through USB, and connected with a host PC 21 through the Ethernet. Image data taken by the camera 23 is stored in a memory card or the like, and directly transferred to the printer by use of a specific communication format for direct print. In the printer 22, print processing for direct print is performed, or the image data is stored in a storage device while sampling the print processing.
