PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for eliminating a blockage, by which the blockage can surely be eliminated as quickly as possible without dismantling the production line of a natural gas hydrate (NGH) production plant, when the production line is blocked with agglomerated NGH, because the operation of the production line is interrupted for a long time, when a blocked portion is dismantled to eliminate the blockage, and to provide a device for eliminating the blockage. SOLUTION: This method for eliminating the blockage comprises disposing shutoff valves V<SB>1</SB>, V<SB>2</SB>for shutting off a blocked portion 12 from other portions in the production line 11, disposing a pressure relief valve V<SB>3</SB>for reducing the pressure of the blocked portion 12 and an entrance valve V<SB>4</SB>and an exit valve V<SB>5</SB>for flowing in and flowing out a solvent from a solvent tank 15, closing the shutoff valves V<SB>1</SB>, V<SB>2</SB>to cut off the blocked portion 12 from other portions, when blocked, opening the pressure relief valve V<SB>3</SB>to reduce the pressure, then, if necessary, closing the pressure relief valve V<SB>3</SB>, and opening the entrance valve V<SB>4</SB>and the exit valve V<SB>5</SB>to flow the solvent in the blocked portion 12 to melt NGH, and then washing with washing water.
