PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ozone-cleaning low-pressure mercury lamp easily carried even if it is an ultraviolet lamp having a long light emitting part, and increased in size, and capable of preventing large stress from being applied to the lamp in lighting it to break it. SOLUTION: A straight-tube type arc tube 1 having metal bases 2 at both ends is held to sockets 3 attached to a top plate 4 by the metal bases 2. The sockets 3 are each provided with a cooling mechanism, and the coldest part at an end of the arc tube 1 is kept at an optimum temperature. Each socket 3 can be moved only in the lamp axis direction by a spring 5 arranged between the socket 3 and the top plate 4. Thereby, when the top plate 4 is expanded by the heat of the lamp 1, stress applied to a contact point between the socket 3 and the top plate 4 is relaxed by the spring 5.
