PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out working so that the surface of radius bending is smoothly continued so as to eliminate phenomena in which a boundary line and a stripe caused by the brightness and darkness of the light are observed about the end part of the radius bending of a metal plate. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises: a pair of driving rolls 12, 12; rotationally driving means for respectively driving the pair of driving rolls 12, 12; a pressing roll 20 which is arranged in parallel, touchably and separably to the pair of driving rolls 12, 12 and also held freely rotatably about the axial center; a pressing roll holding part 22 which has a plurality of bearings which are respectively arranged in a plurality of rows in the axial direction and the peripheral direction; a pressurizing means 28 for pressing the pressing roll 20 through the pressing roll holding means 22 and a controlling means 30 for controlling the rotationally driving means so as to gradually shorten a feed distance in the stroke of back and forth movement for making a plurality of times of back and forth movement about a required feed distance in the state where the metal plate 10 is put between the pair of driving rolls 12, 12 and the pressing roll 20.
