PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature detecting device capable of accurately detecting the temperature of an object to be detected even if ambient temperature of a non-contact temperature detecting sensor abruptly varies. SOLUTION: The temperature detecting device 10 is equipped with: the non-contact temperature detecting sensor 20 which is provided with a detection thermistor 23 for detecting heat radiated from a heat roller 2 and a compensation thermistor 24 for detecting the ambient temperature, and calculates their output values to obtain surface temperature of the heat roller 2; and a holding member 30 which holds the sensor 20. The holding member 30 has an opening part 31 where air circulates at or nearby the place where the non-contact temperature detecting sensor 20 is projected. Consequently, the non-contact temperature detecting sensor 20 can have the smallest number of places where it contacts the holding member 30, then, can suppress heat transfer between the sensor 20 and the holding member 30 and also can directly detect the heat radiated from the heat roller 2 in a wide region on the sensor surface.
