<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a durable gas sensor that prevents oxygen concentration or the like contained in atmosphere as reference gas supplied to a sensor element, can obtain an exact sensor output, and can suppress corrosion of a terminal section. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor 1 comprises the sensor element 2, a heater 3, a housing 4, an atmosphere side cover 5, a lead wire 12, and an electrical porcelain 7. The atmosphere side cover 5 has a large diameter section 511, a small diameter section 521, and a step section 512. The small diameter section 521 has a ventilation section 8 for securing the ventilation outside and inside the atmosphere side cover 5. The heater 3 has the terminal section 30 connected to a lead wire 12. The electrical porcelain 7 has an abutting face 70 arranged facedly to the step section 512 of the atmosphere side cover 5 so as to come into contact with it and an irregular section 700 formed on the abutting face 70, and is arranged in a covered state of the terminal section 30 of the heater 3. An outside route section 61 communicating with the outside from the inside space 50 of the atmosphere side cover 5 on the tip side than the electrical porcelain 7 via the irregular section 700 and the ventilation section 8 is formed between the outer peripheral surface of the electrical porcelain 7 and the inner peripheral surface of the atmosphere side cover 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
