PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that printing equipment cannot read/write coloring material information and prepayment information retained by each IC chip, in a prepaid type printer system. SOLUTION: This coloring material cartridge comprises a cartridge main body which holds the coloring material, a coloring material information storage part which stores the coloring material information regarding the coloring material and a prepayment information storage part which stores the prepayment information regarding printing. The coloring material information enclosure part includes a connection terminal to be connected with an external read/write device and a connection line to be connected with the prepayment information enclosure part.
