A light guide plate having a light leakage prevention structure and a backlight apparatus using the same are provided to remove a gap between an LED(light emitting diode) and a side surface of the light guide plate and thus allow light from a light source to be entirely incident onto the side surface of the light guide plate and pass through the light guide plate by attaching an adhesion portion of an LED assembly to a stepped portion of the light guide plate. A stepped portion(11a,11b) is formed at an upper surface or a lower surface of a light guide plate(11) for an LED assembly supplying light incident from a side surface of the light guide plate to be mounted and attached to the upper surface or the lower surface of the light guide plate, thereby removing a gap between an LED of the LED assembly and the facing side surface of the light guide plate. |
