FIELD: sorbents and oil pollution elimination. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the area of rational utilization of secondary resources of agroindustrial complex, in particular, to preparation of sorbent suitable for cleaning oil-polluted grounds using oil-oxidizing microorganisms. Process involves treatment of sunflower seed shells via solvent (hexane) extraction for 30 to 100 min followed by settling and drying of degreased sunflower seed shell at 100-200C. After drying, on the surface of product, an associate of microorganisms is immobilized by way of spraying water suspension of preparation called "Devoroil" prepared at ratio of dried mass of microorganisms to water 1:(2-5). Spraying is effected at ratio of degreased sunflower seed shell to water suspension of "Devoroil" preparation (5-20):1 and is followed by stirring and drying of sorbent at 20-35C to residual moisture content 10-15%. ^ EFFECT: increased oil capacity and acquired property of oil and petroleum product destructor. ^ 1 dwg
