<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic component capable of shortening a tuning time by enhancing a trimmable range with one-time laser irradiation. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic component has a package base 50, a piezoelectric vibrating piece 10 mounted on the package base 50 and having a balance adjusting portion to be processed with a laser beam, and a lid 60 joined to the package base 50 with a joining material 57 used for hermetically sealing the surroundings of the piezoelectric vibrating piece 10 and provided with a diffusion lens 62.
