CONTRAST MEDIUM DELIVERED TO PROSTATIC CANCER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new molecular imaging agent for MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) in order to detect localization of prostatic cancer in a living body. SOLUTION: A contrast medium for the MRI is provided. The contrast medium is characterized as an enhanced targeting ability to the prostatic cancer as compared with the conventional gadolinium-based MRI contrast medium by imparting an affinity for a neutral amino acid transport protein highly expressing in a cell membrane of a prostatic cancer cell. The contrast medium comprises (1) a site for exhibiting contrast effects and (2) a site having the affinity for the neutral amino acid transport protein in the structure thereof.
