PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and imaging method capable of reducing the noise contained in image. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus can execute noise reduction processing for each time division image. The imaging apparatus is provided with an exposure control unit 200, dividing the photographing number setting unit 202 for setting the number of photographs of a time division image required for acquiring proper exposure, time division image photographic unit for photographing the time division images; a feature amount extracting unit 302 for extracting a feature point of each of the time division images; an effective pixel region extracting unit 304 for extracting an effective pixel region, corresponding pixel extracting unit 306 for extracting one pixel group contained in each of the time division images and corresponding to one pixel of the effective pixel region; a statistical value calculating unit 204 for calculating the statistical value from the luminance value of the corresponding pixel contained in the one pixel group, luminance value correcting unit 206 for correcting the luminance value of each of the correcting pixels, on the basis of the statistical value; and a composite luminance calculating unit 208 for calculating luminance value of a composite image from the corrected luminance value.
