PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plug socket for an internal combustion engine capable of securing the required electrical strength of an insulating pipe by preventing an inner circumference surface of the insulating pipe from being shaved off. SOLUTION: A first cap 47 (second cap 49) is provided with three holding claws 47h (holding claws 49h) holding a resistance 48, and three protection claws 47p (protection claws 49p) of which outside surfaces form a protection claw circle P larger than a holding claw circle H which is formed by outer sides of the three holding claws 47h (holding claws 49h) and is smaller than an inner diameter of the isolation pipe by 0.01 mm - 0.2 mm, the three holding claws 47h (holding claws 49h) and the three protection claws 47p (protection claws 49p) are provided alternately in a circumference direction.
