PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveyor which conveys sediment accumulated in a cutter chamber of a shield machine for excavating the ground containing much moisture in a backward direction so as to discharge the sediment from an exhaust port, and which can secure inside and outside sealing performance in the closing of the exhaust port without deteriorating its durability. SOLUTION: The exhaust port 26A in which the back end-side lower outer-peripheral surface of a cylindrical casing 20A internally mounted with a screw conveyor 25 is notched in a prescribed shape is opened and closed by a cylindrical closing member 261A which is mounted in a covering state on the outer peripheral surface of the casing 20A, and which can slide along an axial direction by a reciprocating drive means 28. Seal members 29a and 29b are interposed at least in a section between the periphery of the exhaust port 26A and the inner peripheral surface of the closing member 261A of the outer peripheral surface of the casing 20A in the closing of the exhaust port 26A, so as to ensure the sealability of the inside and outside of the casing 20A.
