PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress line disconnection when switching a base station that relays communication, in a communication system for performing communication between an autonomous mobile apparatus and a remote control apparatus via any one of a plurality of base stations. SOLUTION: A communication system is equipped with: the autonomous mobile apparatus; a plurality of base stations which can perform communication with the autonomous mobile apparatus by radio; a remote control apparatus which can perform communication with each of the plurality of base stations and communicates with the autonomous mobile apparatus via any one of the plurality of base station; and a base station control apparatus which can perform communication with each of the plurality of base stations and controls the plurality of base stations. The autonomous mobile apparatus transmits radio waves at predetermined time intervals at least. The base station control apparatus switches the base station to relay the communication between the remote control apparatus and the autonomous mobile apparatus in accordance with a reception state, at each base station, of radio waves from the autonomous mobile apparatus.
