PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance method of a production line which improves efficiency of maintenance work of a production line, and also to provide a maintenance device used for the same. SOLUTION: The maintenance method of the production line has a version information obtaining step (S101) in which a computer acquires version information of software controlling respective devices constituting the production line, an adaptability judgement step in which the computer judges the presence of adaptability of the software controlling respective devices constituting the production line version adaptability information stored in the computer and the version information acquired in the version information acquiring step, and an output step for judgement result which outputs the absence of the adaptability when the computer judges that the adaptability is absent.
