A group of inventions concerns a method and an unit for preparation of carbon articles from blanks consisting of substance original relative to carbon. The method comprises the first stage, in which original relative to carbon material is transformed to carbon by means of heating, and the second stage, which consists in high temperature heat treatment under low pressure. Both stages are performed with continuous withdrawing of isolated gaseous product. The first and second stages are performed one after another in the same furnace, at that after the finishing the first stage there are performed stages: change-over discharge from furnace of eliminating gaseous product with interruption of connection of furnace with first diverting device, and connection of the furnace to the second diverting device; adjusting the pressure inside the furnace to a value necessary for the second stage; adjusting the temperature of furnace heating beginning from the temperature achieved at the end of the first stage. During the second stage there is provided a possibility of neutralization of any alkalinemetal, which is contained in sublimated form in eliminated gaseous product being precipitated from the furnace. For this purpose there is used injection of CO2 to the pipe, intended for diverting of precipitated product.
