The electrode has a selectively permeable membrane (1) for retaining impurities of liquid on a retentate side of the membrane. An electrically conductive film (2, 3) is placed on a permeate side of the membrane, where the electrically conductive film is porous. The retentate side of the membrane forms a hollow body, where the hollow body comprises an inlet and an outlet opening for flowing the liquid. The conductive film is attached as an electrically conductive coating on the permeate side. An independent claim is also included for a method for determination of concentration of analyte in contaminated liquids.
