PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance inspection precision of liquid ejection in a liquid ejector for ejecting liquid by utilizing electrostatic attraction. SOLUTION: The liquid ejector 1 is provided with a liquid ejection head 2 having a plurality of nozzles 7 and ejecting liquid by utilizing electrostatic force, a lighting substrate K for receiving liquid ejected from the nozzle 7, an inspection substrate L for receiving liquid ejected from the nozzle 7 during inspection of liquid ejection, a counter electrode 3 for supporting the inspection substrate L, carry rollers 13a-13d as means for moving the inspection substrate L relatively to the liquid ejection head 2, an imaging means 18 for acquiring image data by imaging the droplet of liquid ejected from the nozzle 7 toward the inspection substrate L, an image analysis means 21 for detecting the droplet diameter by analyzing the image data, and a means 22 for regulating liquid ejection quantity from each nozzle 7 such that variation in droplet diameter is suppressed based on the analysis results from the image analysis means 21.
