PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article preventing leakage flowing at a rear part by being tightly fitted to a complicated recessed/projecting shape of a body of a user when being worn. SOLUTION: A sanitary napkin 1 is provided with an absorbent layer 10 having a liquid retaining property and a leakage prevention layer 11 having liquid impermeability, is divided into a front part A, a discharge part facing part B and a rear part C in the longitudinal direction, and has a substantially longitudinally long shape. A skin abutment face side of the absorbent layer 10 in the rear part C has two grooves 8a and 8b, the two grooves 8a and 8b have forward projecting shape respectively, the protruded front part are disposed approximately into a line on a virtual line passing through the central part of the width direction in the napkin 1, and each of the two grooves 8a and 8b has a pair of side parts extending longitudinally rearward in the napkin 1.
