PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain a load of a storage system when transferring a capacity expansion volume. SOLUTION: A common external storage device is connected to the first and second storage systems. A control computer is provided with a capacity expansion volume transfer part for transferring the capacity expansion volume provided in the first storage system to the second storage system, a host connection path switching part for switching a used host connection path from the first host connection path for connecting the capacity expansion volume in a transferring side to a host computer, to the second host connection path for connecting the capacity expansion volume in a transferred side to the host computer, and an external connection path switching part for switching an external connection path to be used from the first external connection path for connecting a storage area allocated to the capacity expansion volume in the transferring side to the external storage device, to the second external connection path for connecting a storage area allocated to the capacity expansion volume in the transferred side to the external storage device.
