A plasma display device is provided to form effectively black images, to prevent reflection of light, and to improve light room contrast and luminance of a panel by shielding effectively external incident light. A plasma display device includes an external light shielding sheet(300) having a base part(310) and a pattern part(320). The light refracted at a predetermined angle penetrates the base part. The pattern part has a refractive index smaller than the refractive index of the base part. In the pattern part, a sectional area of a lower end is larger than a sectional area of an upper end. The lower end of the pattern part is disposed in a light emitting side of a panel. The upper end of the pattern part is disposed in an incident light side of the panel. An aperture ratio of the external light shielding sheet is gradually increased from a center of the panel to the edge of the panel. |
