PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress oil consumption when an electromagnetic actuator is turned OFF without shortening an output valid stroke. SOLUTION: A return spring 5 consists of a valve closing spring 5a for energizing a spool 4 to the direction of closing the valve in a variability region of an output invalid stroke L1, and an output control spring 5b for energizing the spool 4 to the direction of closing the valve in a variability region of the output valid stroke L2. The valve closing spring 5a has a low axial spring constant. This avoids a trouble of increasing the energizing force of the output control spring 5b in the output valid stroke L2, and avoids a trouble of shortening the output valid stroke L2. In the output invalid stroke L1, the spool 4 is energized to the direction of closing the valve with the energizing force of the valve closing spring 5a having the low spring constant. Thereby, the output invalid stroke L1 is elongated to suppress oil leakage from the spool valve 1 when the electromagnetic actuator 2 is turned OFF. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
