<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of printing with various marks such as star mark, heart mark, etc. inserted at the pupil position of an object picture. <P>SOLUTION: A controller 183 functioning as a pupil detecting means for detecting the pupil region of an input picture controls a print processor 154 to print a picture with a specified mark disposed at the detected pupil position, based on the input picture. For detecting the red eye, there are a method of automatically detecting the pupil region after a face recognition process and a method of manually indicating from a display.
