PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a fusion splicing part between double clad fibers or between a double clad fiber and an SMF, to maintain high reliability in the fusion splicing part over a long term, or to protect the terminal end part of the double clad fiber, and to maintain high reliability in the terminal end part over a long term. SOLUTION: A protection body 5 is provided to the fusion splicing part of double clad fibers 4, 6, a protection body 7 is provided to a fusion slicing part between the double clad fiber 6 and a CPF 8 and a protection body 9 is provided to a fusion splicing part between the CPF 8 and the SMF 10. The protection bodies 5, 7 protect the fusion splicing part between the double clad fibers and diffuse heat caused by excitation light leaked from the fusion splicing part to the outside. The protection body 9 protects the fusion splicing part between the CPF 8 and the SMF 10 and diffuses residual excitation light removed from the fusion splicing part to the outside.
