PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system by which a printing error is confirmed even in a host device, in printing via a network.

SOLUTION: A printer 50 has a complete page number holding means which is a nonvolatile memory and holds a complete page number which is a page number of printing paper where printing completion is detected, a PC 10 transmits a device acquisition command for requesting session establishment when a communicable state at which communication with a printer 10 can be performed after detecting an incommunicable state at which communication with the printer 50 can not be performed and the printer 50 transmits the complete page number to the PC 10 when a session establishment state is detected.
