PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is less in the change of viewing angle characteristics even if some deviation is caused in an arrangement relation between linear projection parts and aperture parts being an alignment control means for liquid crystal molecules. SOLUTION: On one of a pair of substrates which face each other across a liquid crystal layer, a plurality of linear projection parts as the alignment control means for the liquid crystal layer are arranged side by side. An electrode on the other substrate has slit opening parts as the alignment control means for the liquid crystal layer between adjacent linear projection parts such that a half of the opening parts are arranged each shifting to one linear projection part and the remaining half are arranged each shifting to the other linear projection part about a center line which is parallel to the adjacent linear projection parts and at the same distance therefrom.
