PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a noise reducer which can remove noise generated from an analog circuit or a CCD efficiently through addition of little circuitry in a digital video camera or a digital still camera. SOLUTION: An image for extracting noise component is an image photoed intentionally under defocus state. A frequency region conversion means 102 performs frequency conversion for these images, and a noise component extraction means 103 extracts the noise component thus removing the noise component inherent to a camera by a noise component removing means 105. Consequently, noise due to fluctuation of CCD charges (shot noise), noise due to read-out operation of CCD (reset noise), and noise due to an amplifier can be detected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
