The method involves applying the numberings (2) on a printed sheet (10) in multiple printed panels. A document (1) e.g. safety document such as credit card, is laminated. The individual numbering is ordered on the inside after laminating the document. The individual numbering is protected by an overlay foil. The numberings are applied by using an electromechanical numbering work with a safety printing ink on a printed sheet. An independent claim is also included for a document with a numbering.
