<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusing sheet and a light diffusing plate that can reduce members of a backlight unit while maintaining basic optial characteristics such as having excellent light diffusing property and condensing property and giving high total light transmittance and luminance, as well as that have excellent scratch resistance, and to provide a backlight unit and a liquid crystal display device using the sheet or the plate. <P>SOLUTION: The light diffusing sheet 10 and a light diffusing plate have a light diffusing layer (A) having a group of at least one kind of fine particles 14 dispersed in a light transmitting resin 13, wherein the light transmitting resin 13 is a (meth)acrylic resin containing inorganic ultrafine particles or organic-inorganic composite ultrafine particles, and the absolute value of the difference in refractive index between the light transmitting resin 13 constituting the light diffusing layer (A) and the group of at least one kind of fine particles 14 is not less than 0.05. The backlight unit uses the above light diffusing sheet 10 and/or the light diffusing plate. The liquid crystal display device is equipped with the backlight unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
