A secondary battery is provided to prevent the decrease of battery capacity, to allow an electrolyte to be injected rapidly into an electrode assembly, and to prevent shortage due to the contact of an electrode terminal with a metal can, thereby improving safety. A secondary battery comprises an electrode assembly inserted into a prismatic metal can; and an insulating member(300) mounted on the upper end of the electrode assembly to maintain the electrical insulation to a top cap, wherein the insulating member comprises a plate-shaped main body(310) having the shape corresponding to the internal surface of the metal can, a support part(320) projected at the both end parts of the main body, and a screen(350) extended from the side surface of the main body in the projection direction of the electrode tap in the assembling process of the electrode tap to the tap cap. |
