PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve gear of an internal combustion engine for facilitating maintenance of an oil control valve for switching a resting cylinder and an oil pump for switching the resting cylinder. SOLUTION: This invention is provided by arranging the coil control valve 120 for switching the resting cylinder and the oil pump 170 for switching the resting cylinder to be driven by a camshaft, on an outer wall surface of the internal combustion engine. Thus, both the oil control valve 120 for switching the resting cylinder and the oil pump 170 for switching the resting cylinder, are formed as a structure exposed outside an engine. Thus, when performing maintenance on the coil control valve 120 and the oil pump 170, the maintenance can be performed without attaching-detaching a part of an engine body 1.
