Disclosed is a light diffusion film having excellent light transmittance and light diffusibility while maintaining excellent heat resistance, mechanical strength and thickness accuracy intrinsic to a biaxially stretched film. In addition, this light diffusion film is suppressed in generation of curling after a heat treatment. Specifically disclosed is a light diffusion film which is composed of a biaxially stretched multilayer film having a supporting layer made of a crystalline polyester and a light diffusion layer formed on at least one side of the supporting layer by co-extrusion. This light diffusion film is characterized in that the light diffusion layer contains 60-98 parts by mass of a crystalline polyester and 2-40 parts by mass of a light diffusing additive which is incompatible with the polyester. The light diffusion film is further characterized by having a plane orientation degree (?P) of 0.080-0.160, a total light transmittance of not less than 85%, and a haze of not less than 30%.
