PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up a color conversion process while assuring a required picture quality. SOLUTION: The image processor comprises a color conversion part 223 which performs color conversion based on a color conversion table 243, a cache table 241 which stores an output color value data and an input color value data having been previously color-converted by the color conversion part 223, a key color buffer 245 which holds a key color value data, and a subtractive color process part 225 for taking out a data up to a specified high order digit of the input color value data. The input color value data which agrees with the key color value data is compared with an input color value data of the cache table 241 while the input color value data which does not agree with the key color value data is compared with it after processed by a subtractive color process part 225. If both agree with each other, the output color value data of the cache table 241 is taken as an output color value data, and if there is no agreement, the color value data which is color-converted by the color conversion part 223 is taken as an output color value data.
