PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform image processing close to a feeling at the time of photographing according to the condition of a subject such as the strength of the sun. SOLUTION: The electronic camera comprises a brightness detecting portion, an image pick-up portion, and a chroma saturation regulating portion. The brightness detecting portion detects brightness information of the field, and the image pick-up portion picks up an image of the field and generates image data. The chroma saturation regulating portion changes the chroma saturation of the image data according to a change in perception of chroma saturation corresponding to the brightness information of the field.
