PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of emitting auxiliary light of stable emitted light quantity without being influenced by temperature. SOLUTION: The camera which performs auto-focusing control based on output from the sensors having a plurality of light receiving elements for receiving light from a subject in a range-finding area is equipped with: an auxiliary light emitting means for emitting auxiliary light for autofocus to the subject; a temperature detection means for detecting the temperature in the camera; and a light emission control means for controlling at least either the light emitting time or the light emitting level of the auxiliary light so that the emitted light quantity of the auxiliary light emitted from the auxiliary light emitting means may be nearly constant based on temperature detected by the temperature detection means. By making the light emitting time of the auxiliary light shorter as the ambient temperature of the camera is higher, the emitted light quantity of the auxiliary light is controlled to be nearly constant.
