The synchronization system includes synchronization server and synchronization client. The said synchronization server and synchronization client skips device capability information negotiation and directly makes synchronization between the synchronization server and synchronization client when the negotiated device capability information or status ID or the unchanged status ID of device capability information has been stored. The method of device capability information negotiation includes: receiving the request, the request has the parameter which requests to making device capability negotiation; deciding that the session is device capability negotiation session according to the said parameter; returning the response, and making device capability negotiation; storing the results of the device capability negotiation and completing the session. The invention can improve the synchronization efficiency.
