PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission belt of high durability which is excellent in adhesion to a core wire. SOLUTION: A V-ribbed belt 31 comprises an expansion part 35 made from a rubber composition containing short fabrics 34 on the rear surface and a compression part 36 arranged on the lower layer of the expansion part 35. The core wire 33 is embedded in the body along the belt length direction. A part of it contacts the expansion part 35, and a remaining part contacts the compression part 36. The compression part 35 is provided with a plurality of ribs 37 whose cross section is near rectangular, extending in the belt length direction, and is also provided with an implanted layer 39 on the surface of rib. The expansion part 35 and the compression part 36 consist of an organic peroxide crosslinker of rubber composition in which ethyleneα-olefin rubber and polystyrene-polyvinylacetate block copolymer are blended at weight ratio of 99.5/0.5 to 80/20.
