A motor and an air conditioner having the same are provided to locate a motor drive between a stator and a motor mounter for supporting the stator, thereby assembling and managing the motor drive integrally with a stator-rotor assembly and protecting the motor drive without any additional control panel. A motor includes a motor mounter(40), a stator(2) fixed to the motor mounter, a rotor(20) rotatably mounted outside the rotor, a shaft(30) mounted on the rotor to be protruded in the opposite direction to the stator, and a motor drive(18) mounted between the stator and the motor mounter. The motor mounter has a motor mounter groove(40E) for avoiding exposure of the motor drive and a stepped part protruded toward the stator for supporting the stator.
