PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas boiler comprising an opening/closing mechanism which proportionally controls opening and closing of a bypass inlet of a bypass passage and an exhaust gas introduction port, is driven for opening and closing by a motor of a small capacity, is improved in sealing performance, and is miniaturized. SOLUTION: In the exhaust gas boiler, a heat exchanging chamber 3 is defined in an exhaust gas passage 1, the exhaust gas introduction port 4 for introducing an exhaust gas into the heat exchanging chamber 3, is formed at an upstream side of the heat exchanging chamber 3, the exhaust gas passage 1 is provided with the bypass passage 5 for allowing the exhaust gas to flow to a downstream side of the heat exchanging chamber 3 while bypassing the heat exchanging chamber 3, and the opening/closing mechanism 7 is disposed to open and close the bypass inlet 6 of the bypass passage 5 and the exhaust gas introduction port 4. The opening/closing mechanism 7 is provided with a slide valve element 12 on the exhaust gas introduction port 4 and the bypass inlet 6 formed in the exhaust gas passage 1 in parallel with each other, in such manner that it slides on an opening portion 4a of the exhaust gas introduction port 4 and an opening portion 6a of the bypass inlet 6 to open one of the exhaust gas introduction port 4 and the bypass inlet 6, and to close the other.
